Pact

Once again paper cuts deep my skin
And then I forget and grab it
Child-like, curious
of its smell and usage

The Archangel Gabriel
Arrived like a bronze dragonfly

A surge of air
Through layered tree rings

She nodded
To the rhythm of the flutter

From this fan
She would weave
A cradle

Furkot, poetry book by Ewa Chrusciel with digital art by Urszula Lukaszuk

Pinocchio’s Nose
For Stasys Eidrigevicius

Pinocchio gains self-knowledge
Pats necessity gently on its shoulder
If he allows, his nose
Will become useful
Serve as a sailboat mast
Or for a grandma to hang her shopping bag.

Chromy’s Birds

Contained in color
Rather than nearness
The cranes cannot meet
They are on two separate canvases
Though the paintings adhere
They will remain detached
Squares’ stately affection
In which cranes’love
Is measured by their distance

It is a lot
To know that they match

- - -
Chromy is a Polish Contemporary sculptor and a painter. Lives in Krakow.

Wherever I go
You let in
The light
Ripple

Unforeseen
Cataract, a soft brush of truth, reminder of
Where I belong

To the reflections
Of light
On altars

Wherever I go
You let in
Not enough
I stopped collecting
Evidence
For Your existence

“The School of Plato”
Jean Delville

Contemplative young men
Gathered as if around Christ --
Aesthetic minds
And alluring locks

This land of peacocks
And pastels
Where men’s love
Stems

Orcas circle
In the ocean—
Women’s
Jealous bodies

The Roads Diverged in a wood
And I took all of them

There are places where all
Unspeakables nestle

What’s unuttered
flutters

Unborn designs
Circle over
unpatched roofs

Non-arrivals and never-endings
Dart up
From unfettered bliss

Orphaned chances
Take on
Unabated Meaning

Sprouts swarm
In numbers
Only forget-me-nots
Would know

There are places

Cyrograf

Papier wciąż przecina moją skórę
a potem znów o tym zapominam i chwytam
go jak dziecko
ciekawe jego zapachu i zastosowań

Przyloty

Odwiedzil nas wujek ze Stanów
Choc nie na pewno
Mialszczelneniebieskieopakowanie
Solidne i o metalicznym smaku
Zapiety byl po raz pierwszy
Czym chwycil nas pod samo gardlo
Tylko jego blekitny nenufar
Niedopiety pofrunal sobie gdzies
Wuj zawsze wpadal do nas nagle
A nocami zakradal sie do kuchni i
Wyjadal nam cebule z kredensu
Tym razem wpadl prosto z lotu
Przez okno, nie bez pomocy innych
Bo mial jeszcze na sobie to niebieskie
Opakowanie, usadowil sie pomiedzy
Pieczolowitymi grzadkami wienców
Byc moze byl juz tylko nieznanym
Instrumentem w pokrowcu
Potem panowie specjalnej brygady
Podrzucali go jak solenizanta przy
Toascie wygladalo to tez troche
Jakby spadl z nieba prosto
Na rozpieta batute
Odbil sie po czym
Zniknal

Nos Pinokia
Statysowi

Pinokio pojmuje sam siebie,
poklepuje przyjacielsko koniecznosc.

Ptaki Chromego

Zawarta bardziej w kolorze
niz bliskosci.
Zurawie nie docieraja,
bo sa na dwoch roznych obrazach.
Choc obrazy przylegaja do siebie
pozostana oddzielnie.
Stateczna milosc kwadratow,
na ktorych milosc zurawi
mierzona jest ich odlegloscia
Tak duzo,
wiedziec ze do siebie pasuja.

Poseuse de dos

pochylona nad swoja ulotnoscia
zmartwiona ze moze sie rozsypac
jak koraliki

Patto
Trans. by Maristella Bonomo

Curioso dell’odore e dell’uso

In una donna;
germoglierà, mormorerà
finche le radici
forreranno
il cervello
unicorni
che ritornano ai boschi
per intrecciare i loro nidi.

Il naso di Pinocchio
Per Stasys Eidrigevicius

trans. by Mariadonata Villa

Pinocchio acquista consapevolezza

trans. by Mariadonata Villa

Trattenute nel colore
Piuttosto che nella vicinanza
Le gru non possono incontrarsi
Sono su due tele distinte
Sebbene i dipinti siano uniti
Resteranno separate

Trans. by Maristella Bonomo

Giovani uomini contemplativi
Riuniti come attorno a Cristo
Menti estetiche
Seducenti blocchi
Questa terra di pavoni
E pastelli
Dove l’amore degli uomini
Si ferma

Il cerchio delle orche
Nell’oceano --
Delle donne
I corpi gelosi

L’arcangelo Gabriele

Giunse come una libellula di bronzo
Una ondata d’aria
attraverso anelli d’albero stratificati

Lei annuì
Al ritmo del battito

Da questo ventaglio
avrebbe tessuto
Una culla

I
E ho visto un albero risuonare
Di baci
Grappoli dondolarsi sui rami

II
Il tuo destino
Su un ramo
In giri di vischio
Ancora non sarai colpito
Dal ramo d’oro

III
Intrappolata nei tuoi capelli
Intrappolata nelle pupille dei tuoi occhi
Intrappolata nel circuito della tua bocca
Io rannicchiata
Come il vischio

IV
In un’orbita contigua al desiderio
Braci di parole
E di ricordi

V

palpita

Disegni non nati
Volteggiano sopra
Tetti scoperti

Non-arrivi e in-fini
scoccano
da una segreta felicità

Possibilità orfane
portano

un significato inesauribile

Germogli brulicano
in gran quantità
Solo i non-ti-scordar-di-me
lo saprebbero

Ci sono luoghi

Bármerre járok
fényt árasztasz rám
ragyogást

hirtelen
hályog az igazság fuvallata emlékezés
mihez tartozom

a fényhez
az ólomüveg ablakok
villanásaihoz

Bárhol vagyok
túl kevés fényt
bocsátasz rám

már nem gyujtök érveket a léted mellett
